Data Engineer

Rivian develops emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles and works to protect the outdoors for future generations.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for data-driven initiatives;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement business solutions;
• Work with large datasets while ensuring data quality, integrity, and reliability throughout the data lifecycle;
• Process large volumes of data with Apache Spark in the Databricks environment;
• Use Python, SQL, Spark, and other technologies to optimize data processing capabilities;
• Implement containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes;
• Implement and optimize ETL processes for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading;
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts to provide data infrastructure and analytical support;
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices to improve data engineering processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field;
• At least 3+ years of experience building data and analytics platforms using AWS Cloud, Python, SQL, and Databricks;
• Experience with distributed systems such as Spark;
• Knowledge of automation and CI-CD best practices;
• Strong problem-solving skills;
• Ability to excel in a collaborative team setting.
