Health Cloud Initiative develops Uw Zorg Online, a healthcare platform that enables people to book appointments, request prescriptions, view medical records, contact care providers, and manage their health online. The platform connects patients and care providers across the Netherlands.

• Lead the rebuild of the Uw Zorg Online app for iOS and Android from a shared codebase;
• Define the architecture, project structure, state management, navigation, and native modules;
• Help decide between React Native and Flutter and establish the technical foundation;
• Set up CI/CD, versioning, staged rollouts, store submissions, crash reporting, and analytics;
• Audit the current app with product and design and decide which features require native mobile screens;
• Work with the backend team on the BFF layer and help define API contracts;
• Move business logic and validation from the app into the backend;
• Monitor performance, accessibility, and app-store health;
• Plan and execute a phased migration while the old and new apps run side by side;
• Use AI as part of development, including AI-assisted screen conversion;
• Align the platform team and new-architecture team around the app.

• Several years of experience building and shipping production apps for both iOS and Android from a shared codebase;
• Deep production-grade knowledge of React Native or Flutter, including native modules, platform-specific behavior, framework upgrades, and build tooling;
• Experience taking an app from zero to the stores and maintaining it through releases, store review, staged rollouts, and crash triage;
• Strong knowledge of app architecture and state management, including offline-first, caching, and always-online trade-offs;
• Ability to define and consume APIs and discuss contracts, authentication, and data flow with backend teams;
• Ability to provide technical leadership, set direction, review work, document decisions, and explain them to product and non-engineers;
• Strong focus on performance and accessibility, including testing on real devices;
• Ability to work in a distributed team;
• Comfortable making decisions, taking ownership, and keeping solutions simple in complex contexts;
• All roles require a VOG (proof of conduct);
• Nice to have: experience with both React Native and Flutter, experience replacing a live legacy app, mobile CI/CD expertise with Fastlane, EAS, Codemagic, or GitHub Actions, experience in privacy-sensitive or regulated domains, a native iOS or Android background, working knowledge of Dutch.
