project manager for EV charging infrastructure

Pod is a UK EV charging provider serving home, workplace, public, and smart charging customers. Following the integration of EO Charging, the company also provides specialist fleet and depot charging technology, helping logistics, transport, and operational fleet customers electrify at scale and optimise energy use.

• Own end-to-end delivery of high-power DC charging depot infrastructure projects from site survey through design, delivery, and final handover;
• Manage NEC short-form contracts, including instructions, compensation events, and payment assessments;
• Coordinate grid connection applications, technical approvals, and network upgrade delivery with DNOs and IDNOs;
• Appoint and manage civil contractors, electrical installers, and hardware partners across scope, programme, cost, and quality;
• Build and maintain detailed project plans, balancing timelines, dependencies, and cost loading;
• Manage budgets, procurement, and forecasting, reporting on cost, value, and risk throughout the project lifecycle;
• Ensure HSE best practice, CDM compliance, and internal quality standards across all sites;
• Align internal teams, clients, DNOs, contractors, and delivery partners on scope, timelines, and outcomes;
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans for grid delays, site conditions, and supply chain constraints.

• 3+ Years of project management experience in high-power DC rapid charging depots, utility-scale renewables, or heavy electrical infrastructure;
• Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, ideally in EV charging, utilities, renewables, or heavy electrical environments;
• Hands-on experience managing NEC contracts, including variations, compensation events, and commercial risk;
• Strong understanding of high-power DC charging technology, liquid-cooled cabling, power sharing architectures, BESS, and LV/MV distribution systems;
• Familiarity with DNO processes, contestable works, and large-scale power connections;
• PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent practical experience delivering complex programmes;
• Understanding of CDM regulations, including Principal Designer and Contractor roles;
• Strong commercial acumen for managing contractor rates and equipment procurement under strict contractual frameworks;
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites nationwide.
