Senior Data Platform Engineer for data and AI

Xomnia uses data and AI to tackle real-world challenges and helps organizations operate at the frontier of data and AI. The company works with clients including KLM, Enexis, Rabobank, a.s.r, DAF, and Albert Heijn.

• Define the architectural direction for data platforms;
• Shape engineering standards and steer technical trade-offs;
• Drive architectural decisions and lead migration architecture discussions;
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients;
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering culture;
• Explore new technologies and help define Xomnia engineering standards;
• Build and optimize data platforms and pipelines processing millions of records overnight.

• 5+ Years of experience in data engineering or data-intensive backend systems;
• End-to-end ownership of production-grade platforms;
• Ability to translate technical depth into clear direction for engineers, clients, and stakeholders;
• Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and leading technical discussions;
• Deep expertise optimizing pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost;
• Strong understanding of technology trade-offs across different data platform use cases;
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform;
• Experience with CI/CD-driven data workflows;
• Fluent in English;
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands;
• Nice to have: Dutch.

• Monthly salary between €5,650 – €6,800 based on 40 hours, excluding vacation allowance;
